APPOINTED BOARDS & COMMISSIONS

The Township Code and other state laws allow the Easttown Township Board of Supervisors to enlist the help of capable citizens through the creation of boards and commissions. These boards and commissions provide a wonderful opportunity for citizens to become more directly involved with their local government.

Though the boards and commissions are not “political” in nature, we believe that the appointments should generally reflect the political makeup of Easttown Township where Democrats and Independents now account for 59% of registered voters. Currently, there are too many Republicans and males serving. As the Pennsylvania Township Supervisor’s Handbook states:  “Appointments to boards and commissions should reflect the township’s diversity, including individuals from different neighborhoods that have varied interests and backgrounds.

Below is data on the make-up of the Boards and Commissions as of August 11, 2022.
